PROJECT FOCUS
St. Petersburg, FL 2019 US DOJ Enhanced Collaborative Model Task Force to Combat Human Trafficking Program
The Enhanced Collaborative Model Task Force To Combat Human Trafficking program aims to assist communities to develop effective and sustainable multidisciplinary task forces that will implement victim-centered and coordinated approaches to identifying victims of sex and labor trafficking, address the individualized needs of victims through services, and investigate and prosecute sex and labor trafficking cases (as well as the purchasers of commercial sex) at the local, state, tribal, and federal levels.
The program awards grant funding to support law enforcement and victim service provider efforts within human trafficking task forces. Within each geographic region covered by a task force, two separate awards are made—one to a lead law enforcement agency, and one to a lead victim service provider.
KA personnel provided grant writing support to the City of St. Petersburg multi-jurisdictional team of federal, state, and local governments to apply and win the grant award. St. Petersburg will use $741,556 in grant funds to support the development and enhancement of multidisciplinary human trafficking task forces that will implement collaborative approaches to combat all forms of human trafficking, including sex and labor trafficking of both foreign nationals and U.S. citizens (of all sexes and ages), within the Tampa Bay-St. Petersburg area.
